Jade Mountain is for the eco-hedonist who wants over-the-top service, private infinity pools and panoramic views without the distraction of telephones, air-conditioning or HDTVs (800-223-1108; rooms starting at $1,150 in high season). Its flashy antithesis is Discovery at Marigot Bay (758-458-5300; $310). It offers plasma TVs, Philippe Stark furniture, a fitness center, a spa and a boutique-filled marina that will satisfy the fussiest yachters docked at its 165-foot slips.
Golfers will soon have their pick of a number of new resorts, including Cotton Bay Village (758-457-7872; $880), which opened last month with a championship course, and the Pointe at Cas en Bas course is set to open in 2008. It will be the first component of the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club St. Lucia, which will include a resort hotel as well as residential condos.
Greg Norman designed the course at the Westin Le Paradis St. Lucia Beach and Golf Resort (758-452-3603), which is also expected to open in 2008. Joining the fairway wars late next year will be a new Ritz-Carlton with two golf courses, including an Arnold Palmer.
Delta has five flights a week from Atlanta, and Air Jamaica is adding a fourth weekly flight from Kennedy Airport, so more New Yorkers can tee off by lunch time.
